Ed Marcum, Chief Executive Officer:

Ed completed his studies of Computer Science at American University in 1970. He has been affiliated with the repossession industry for over 20 years as an agency owner and his affiliation with IG/RSIG. Before his entry into the industry, he worked in law enforcement and insurance investigations and currently owns several related businesses. His background in the insurance field and management of multiple businesses has given him the expertise required of his current position of managing the day to day operations of IG., Inc. as it's General Manager. Being a co-founder of IG, Ed takes his duties very seriously. His goals are to strengthen the image of the recovery industry, while maintaining IG/RSIG’s position as a leader in the industry. Ed has endeavored to educate and professionalize the industry and until recently worked on developing a computerized training and certification course for the repossession industry.

Dana Franklin Loan:

Dana joined IG., Inc. in January of 1997. She has her Bachelor of Science degree from George Mason University in Business Management. Before coming to work for IG., Inc., Dana was employed at a local law firm as an Account Analyst and Assistant Treasurer. Her duties at IG., Inc. include processing claims that meet deductible criteria, working closely claims representatives. Dana is a licensed property and casualty insurance agent and assists the General Manager with the daily operations and management of IG., Inc, as well as publishing the IG., Inc./RSIG Newsletter, directory, event planning and advertising.

Marnie Lorimer Butu:

Marnie has been with RSIG since March of 1999. Her previous work experience includes running a gift shop, public relations, customer service, operating a backhoe, and was even a brakeman on a train! Marnie spends most of her days going over the monthly reports. This includes researching accounts, processing payments, and other duties to ensure that if the ever-dreaded claim happens, the report that is reflected is clear, concise and accurate. She also handles most of the event planning for certification courses, has represented RSIG at various trade shows and has performed member audits. Marnie enjoys challenge in her work, which is what brought her here to I.G. Inc./RSIG.

Terry Tudor:

Terry is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, with a BS degree in Business administration. In the years since graduating college he has devoted much time in social activities primarily inner city work with mentally ill citizens of the District of Columbia. At the same time he has pursued carrier goals in Information Technology and looks forward to providing Business and Community services in Software and Network Solutions as a long-term goal. Terry joined IG., Inc. in May of 1999, prior to joining IG., Inc. Terry worked for Continuum Consulting Inc., the developers of IGI, and other software companies in the technical support area. As hobbies he loves Music, Sports, Arts, and Science.

Michael Howk:

Mike – joined the IG., Inc./RSIG staff as our Industry Relations and Risk Manager in September 1999. He has a very distinguished background where his titles included Manager of Franchise Operations, Executive Vice President of Operations & Vice President of Operations – Eastern Zone with American Lenders Service Company's home office. Although Mike is not a "practicing attorney", he does hold a degree in law and is a member of the Florida bar. Mike is also licensed by the State of Florida as a Recovery Agent Instructor. In his function with American Lenders, Mike developed and maintained strong customer relationships, assisted in the development of nationwide franchise offices and was instrumental in the development and implementation of the first insurance policies and program specifically designed for the repossession industry. Mike also has extensive experience and expertise in interoffice networking.. Through his many years of involvement in the industry and his legal background, Mike has had continued hands-on experience with dispute resolution, risk management, regulation compliance, program development and education.

Chris Marcum:

Chris has been with RSIG on a full-time basis since December 2001. He currently works as the Claims Administrator for RSIG. In this capacity he is the liaison between the members and the insurance company; assisting daily in gathering information necessary to process claims. He also works with claimants directly, handling losses that are below the policy deductibles. Chris is certified in the STARS estimatic program and has taken other classes in Automotive Estimatics and Small Loss Estimatics. Chris has also taken the courses needed to become a licensed insurance agent.

Karly Gee:

Karly has been with RSIG since August 2006 and brings with her years of customer service experience. She assists members daily with certificate of insurance requests, questions regarding monthly reports and tracking Accidental Death and Dismemberment policy information. Being new to the repossession insurance industry, what she lacks in industry experience is made up for in a strong work ethic, exceptional customer service skills and a refreshing, positive attitude. She is looking forward to a long relationship with RSIG and its members.

Board of Directors

J. Ace Carter, Chairman:

John Ace Carter started his repossession business, Oregon Adjusters, in May of 1953. Ace is a resident graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth, KS and had an avocational military career from 1950 to 1983. He is a charter member of the American Recovery Association and a member of the California Association of Licensed Repossessors. Ace has been a Board member of IG., Inc. and its predecessors since June of 1989. Ace currently serves as Vice President of IG., Inc. and has served on the Financial Control Committee as well as the Membership and Budget Committees.

George “Bud” Wilkins, Vice-Chairman:

Bud Wilkins established Omni Recovery Service in Birmingham, AL, in June 1989. He became a member of Recovery Specialist Insurance Group in June 1992 and has been on the Board of Directors since December 1995. Bud has served on the Membership and Financial Controls Committees and is dedicated to the continuing education and professionalism of the repossession industry. Bud graduated from Harlem High School, Harlem, GA and attended Augusta College in Augusta, GA. His background includes serving four years in the US Air Force, over fifteen years experience in the finance and mortgage banking fields and is a past member of the Rotary Club.

Jim Clark:

Jim Clark joined IG's predecessor company RSIG, Inc. in 1990 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 1991 In 1995 Jim teamed up with Ed Marcum to purchase the assets of the struggling RSIG, Inc., founded IG., Inc., and turned it into the successful company IG., Inc. d.b.a. Recovery Specialist Insurance Group is today. Since that time Jim has held the office of President, where he has diligently served and helped to gain significant advancements for the membership at large. Jim has developed vast experience in the recovery industry while working both sides of the industry. First as a collection manager at Merit Finance and later working for Ford Motor Credit and later as the owner of Clark Recovery. Jim has also owned and operated a motorcycle dealership and is a licensed private investigator. Jim is married and has twin children, a girl and a boy.

Leon Scroggins:

Leon Scroggins joined the board of Recovery Specialist Insurance Group in February 2004. Leon was a collector and branch manager of the Morris Plan Company of California, an Industrial Loan and Thrift. He has been affiliated with the repossession industry since entering it in 1975 as a part time repossessor. Leon now owns and operates Leon’s Quality Adjuster’s in Fresno and is a partner in Kern County Recovery in Bakersfield owning his own company since 1989. Leon drafted the California Association of Licensed Repossessors official Code of Ethics and has served the association on its board from 1993 to 2001, serving as its President in 1999 and 2000 and its Convention Chair.

Linda Manasa:

Linda has been a loyal RSIG member for over 10 years now, becoming a member in June 1996. In 1987 she started working with Bill Elliot Inv. in Houston, TX, quickly becoming the lead skip tracing investigator, working high profile cases nationwide. In 1990, Linda graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy gaining experience which has proved invaluable in working with Law Enforcement Agencies. LRM & Associates was started in 1991 primarily as a nationwide skip tracing agency, but has expanded its services to include repossessions. Linda is a member of the Kansas Association of Licensed Investigators and also a member of Allied Finance Adjusters Conference Inc. Linda believes the key to the future of the repossession industry is professionalism and respect. She feels these objectives can best be met by agency owners being responsible for and accountable to their businesses; and trying to find ways to work with lenders rather than against each other.
